2. If you choose, from Omonia Sq., Aghios Constandinos St., go 6 blocks to Karaiskakis
Sq, (a round-about) to your 11 o'clock position at entry and right on Axilleos
St. , then another 10 blocks to the railroad tracks and turn left. Then keep
going.
The E 94 is a new highway but, by American standards not a super highway. It contains many curves with precipitous cliffs along its coastal sections. There are basically 2 1/2 lanes in each direction. Slower vehicles are expected to remain in the extreme right lane or break down lane. The best time to make this journey is early week day mornings. The weekends, and especially Greek holiday weekends, are not recommended. If you do go on the weekend go early and drive defensively, and watch for stalled vehicles in the break down lane, especialy on curves.
Modern Corinth Town is a decent sort of place but not the most charming to spend an extended period. Its buildings are somewhat new, due to earthquake damage, and zoning restrictions limit them to low squat structures, for safety reasons.
My suggestion is to visit the Corinth area attractions which interest you and to then continue south to take up lodgings in the more picturesque town of Nafplion, Argolida Prefecture. On the way you may visit Nemea's ancient sites and buy locally produced wine, then Mycenae to view the ancient ruins and museum, and Epidavros to see the sanctuary/theater complex or perhaps take in a performance. Alternatively from the Nemea area one may procede to the Corinthian Highlands and its mountain villages and vistas.
