Kimolos is a well kept Cyclades secret with great beaches, a lovely Hora (main Village), working windmills, a very well preserved Castle, an archeological museum and wonderful hiking. What's more, certain beaches are visited by loggerhead turtles and the very rare mediterranean monk seal has been spotted too!
Inexpensive rooms aren't too hard to find in town and restaurants are cheap and easy to find.
The island also has some unique botany and reptiles and gets plenty of sun. Most fertile to its south, almost 1,000 islanders live here year round replete with several interesting older churches. If you want to avoid the crowds of the rest of the Cyclades island group Kimolos is a good choice and only a short distance to Milos another great island!
